Friday 3/30/12

I went to Publix today and did really well. Remember, lots of our coupons will expire tomorrow night at midnight, burn them off if you can. Here's the blow by blow:

Alexia Artisan Breads were bogo (that almost never happens), We had .55 off 1 coupons, they came out at $1.29 each. They are so nice to have in the freezer for guests. Del Monte Canned Veggies (some for us and some for church pantry) were bogo after coupons .49 each. Hellmanns mayo bogo, There was a $1 off 1 coupon, they came out at $1.62 each....geez, when did mayo get so expensive??? Ragu Pasta sauce bogo (church pantry), there was a Target Coupon for $1 off 2, and mfg coupons for .50 off 1, they came out at .30 each! Swanson Broth was bogo, I had coups for $1.25 off 3 and then I had a coupon from my email kudo letters to the company and I got back a $3 off 1 coupon, I bought 10 at .67 each. Maybelline eye shadow was $2.99, there is a Publix coupon for $2 off any Maybeline eye makeup, cost me .99, used 2 of the same coupons for Maybelline Big lash mascaras were $5.39, used 2 of the $2 off 1 and also had mfg for mascara of $1 off 1, these came in at $2.39 each, not too bad for mascara. Dentyne gum were 10 for $10, I had mfg coupons for $1 off 2, those cost me .50 each. Check out my Keebler deal. Keebler crackers are bogo and so are the cookies. There is a Target coupon for if you buy 3 crackers, you get 1 package of Keebler Fudge Shoppe Jumbo Sticks for free. The cookies were already bogo, so with the coupon I got both cookies for free! I had 4 crackers and 2 cookies for $1.23 for each one. I blew off the rest of my Cooked Perfect meatballs, they expire tomorrow and they are just so good, I had to get them. They are $7.49 per bag (16 X large meatballs), we had coupons for $1 off each bag, or $6.49 per bag.

All in all, I spent $133.03 for $253.41 in groceries, I saved $120.38! I call that a win! If you are gonna run out and do any of these deals, many of the coupons will expire tomorrow, including some of the Publix ones. Go fast before they expire.

Have a great weekend. God Bless.....Rhonda Goff

Wednesday 3/28/12

This will be quick and painless. I did not shop the drug stores again this week, didn't see much I thought was a "must have". Today, I stopped in Wal-Mart for a couple of things and to burn off the rest of my Olay Bar Soap Coupons! I had 11 more coupons (from the ones I ordered from the coupon clipping service.) At any rate, 2 bar pack of Olay Bath Soap was $2.57 at Walmart, my coupons were for $2 off each package. With the Olay soaps I bought from Target and these from Walmart, I ended up with 36 bars of Olay Soap! The regular price for the 36 bars of soap would have been $46.40, I spent $10.40, making them .29 cents per bar! That clipping service order really paid off!

One more thing I wanted to draw your attention to at Wal-Mart. At my daughter's suggestion, I bought the Wal-Mart Brand toilet tissue. It's the double roll 12 pack for $4.96. She said she found it to be equally as good as Charmin and way cheaper. I bought some and she is right, it' really nice TP. I hardly ever save much on TP, Paper towels or garbage bags. I've already switched to Target's kitchen trash bags, I forget how much they are, but way cheaper than the ones I was buying and they are blue! I like that! Guess I better try out Wal-mart paper towels, who knows? If they ever do release some decent coupons for those items, we can still get them, but for now, I'm doing this.

Did you receive your "Savings are stocking up at Publix" booklet in the mail? It has $57 in savings from Kraft, P & G and Pepsico that are Publix coupons which means we can stack them with the manufacturers coups! Whoo hoo, they are good for the entire month of April!

One more quick thing....Big Lots....has their outside furniture pads on sale this week, most are only $19.95. I was looking for some to replace the ones on our porch swing. I priced them at Home Depot and they were between $32.99-$40 some odd! I could almost replace the entire swing for that much! I bought them at Big Lots and they are just fine, probably not the best quality, but if they last a couple years, I'm happy. The good ones didn't last much longer than that. A word of warning, though. If you go there, take a tape measure and measure your pads before you go. They were not marked real well and they didn't offer a ton of different colors.

Okay that's if for now. Have a great rest of the week. God Bless....Rhonda Goff

Friday 3/23/12

Hi all, I know you thought you were rid of me, or that I'd fallen off the face of the earth...not so. I've worked all week in my garden. I HAD to go out today to get some provisions, we were getting pretty low. Stuff like...no milk, no eggs, I figured I'd better go before I get replaced by a newer model...ha ha.

Went to Target with my books just to see what I could shake out. The only real bargain I found was Olay Bath Soaps, I love Olay bath soap! They had the 2 packs for $2.59, remember the coupons I ordered from the clipping service? I had gotten 20 of the $2 off Olay bar soap or body wash. I bought 7 packages, 14 bars in all, for .59 per package, that's less than .30 per bar, not bad for Olay. I didn't want to clean them out all together, so I only took 7 packages. I will probably go back and get more later.

Publix...I ran into a couponer in Publix who showed me the Jones Link & Patty Sausages were $2.99 per package, some of them had a peely on them for $2 off 2 packages. We were pretty tickled over that. Not all the packages had the peeley, you have to look. Anyway, I didn't want to clean those out either, so I bought 3 links and 3 patties and paid $3.98 for 2 or $1.99 each, they are normally priced at $3.99 per package. I had coupons for my Eggland's best cage free eggs. Land O Lakes stick butter was 2 for $5, I had coupons for for $1 off 2, or $2 each. Post Honey Bunches of Oats were bogo, had coupons for $1 off 1, so those were .95 each. Betty Crocker boxed potatoes were bogo, I had coupons for .50 off 2, those ended up at .66 each. Got some for church food pantry. If you use green peppers (I chop them up and freeze them in sandwich bags, then just take out what I need for a recipe), they were $1.49 per pound, bought 5 for $4.01, which is way cheaper than normal. Every once in a while, I get a craving for stuffed peppers the way my mom always made them. Zatarains Rice Mixes were 10 for $10, I had coupons for .50 off 2, which made them .75 each, got some for church. Bought 1 box of Kellogs Raisin bran crunch, store coupon for $2 off 1. By buying the 3 cereals, I qualified for my free gallon of milk, organic gal of milk is $5.79, got that for FREE! The Red Hat steak burgers were down to $6.99 per box, box of 6, they are normally $8.99 and they are every bit as good as Bubba's! Arnold potato bread was bogo, or $1.49 each. Avacados were .99 each. Navel Oranges were .89 per pound, they're from California, but oh well. Organic celery was $1.99 per clump. Bought a few other items, some organic hamburger and cube steaks, some cheese.....remember, I don't think I grocery shopped last week, or did I? Anyway I spent $183.80 for $264.32 in groceries. I think my husband will be proud of how I did today and happy to once again have milk in the house! ha!

Have a great weekend, let me know if you find some goodies too! God Bless.....Rg

Sunday 3/18/12

Hi all, I've been out in my garden taking advantage of my husband's muscle help while I can get it. After work during the week, he is pretty much spent! So this weekend we spread dirt and chicken poop to get our garden ready to plant next weekend. Whoopie, I love to play in the dirt and get very excited when my first seeds break the surface! So, in other words, I have not looked at my coupons or the ads yet at all. I am getting ready to do that now. However, I ran to Winn Dixie to pick up my prescriptions today, and of course took a quick look around. The Winn Dixie on Chafee Road has the most beautiful Chuck Blade roasts on sale bogo! I bought 4 to put in my freezer. You may want to take advantage while they are on sale. I think the current sale ends on Tuesday. Just wanted to give you guys a heads up.

My mammogram turned out good, they read mine immediately because I HAD breast cancer. Thank God, I'm good to go for another year.

I bought 2 of the Colgate Optic White toothpast 2/$8, had MFG coupons for $1 off each one and got back $3 in register rewards, making those $1.50 each. I bought 2 low dose Bayer aspirin, they were buy one get one for 50% off and I had $1 off each one from the Walgreens March coupon booklet and I had $1 off each one mfg coupons. They ended up at .39 each. My 2nd deal was supposed to be the Charmin Basic Toilet paper, they were all out of it. So I bought 1 Purex Ultra pack laundry soap for $3.49, there was a .50/1 coupon in the walgreens book and I had a $1/1 mfg coupon, which made them $1.99. Then I bought a Benefiber for $13.99 had a $2/1 coupon, used my $6 register rewards from the 1st deal, ended up at $10.23 for $22.23 in product. Not too bad.

CVS...also had Irish Spring deodorant 2/$7, I had $1 off each one and got back $4 in register rewards, making those .50 each. My 2nd deal was 2 of the Purex Ultra laundry soaps were $2.49 each, I had coupons for $1 off each one, used my $4 register rewards from the 1st deal, making those 49 each. I had to buy a couple of el cheapo things to make all my coupon vs. item count come out right.

All in all, I spent $37.48 for $78.60 in products. I was pleased with my endeavors for today....I hope you all have a great shopping week. Let me know if you find some super good sales.

Sunday 3/11/12

Hi all, I've been on a sort of hiatus....had our daughter, her husband and his family in for a visit....didn't get a lot of couponning done! However, I did have a lot of help cutting my coupons last Sunday! You know how much that is appreciated!

I took the advice of Divine Deal Diva and ordered some coupons from a clipping service online. I trust her, so am giving it a try. I ordered 20 of the Olay $3/2 and several others that I thought were good coupons, and the Olay soaps could end up being free or money makers, so I wanted to have a stockpile of coupons for those. I ordered today and will let you know how long it takes to get them here in case you want to try as well. Most of the ones I ordered were from 2 different weeks, and for as little as $1, I got 20 coupons already cut out! How cool is that? I'll try anything once. It's cheaper than going and buying a couple of extra papers. I'll keep you'all posted.

Cutting coupons this evening and making some lists. Mammogram in the morning....Ladies, please don't put those off, make your appointments now. As a survivor, it's my job to bug people about it!

I'll let you all know if I come up with anything great. Oh, here is the website I used to order the coupons: http://www.lorihas3kids.com .

Check in with you all later, God Bless.

P.S. I've been putting my coupons in my books, going through Wags & CVS fliers and found some things. I haven't done them yet, but here's what I plan to do.

WAGS 2 Irish Spring Deod 2/$6, I have coups for $1 off each one, and will get $3 RR back. 2 Colgate Optic White TP is 2/$8, I have a coupon for $1 off each one and will get $3 in RR. Bayer aspirin is b1g150% off, and there is a coupon in the Wags Coupon Book for $1/1 and I have coups for $1 off 1, no RR. Then, for my 2nd deal, I plan to buy 2 of the Charmin Basic TP for 2/$11, I have 1 coupon for $1/1 and 1 coupon for .75/1 and will use my $6 RR from the previous deal making 24 rolls of Charmin Basic .15 per roll!

CVS also has the Irish Spring Deod 2/$7, with a $4 RR and we have coups for $1/1. My 2nd deal at CVS will be the Purex Ultra soap at $2.49 each, we have coups for $1/1, if I buy 3 and use my RR from the previous deal, I should only pay .47 for all three of those. I'll let you know how everything works out tomorrow.
