Friday December 30, 2011

Hi all, it's been a while, seems like forever. With all the Christmas hustle and bustle, and not very many great coupon deals, there didn't seem much point. I've been under the weather since Christmas,so I didn't get to any after Christmas sales. Darn it, I needed paper and cards for next year, maybe there will still be some left.

Finished my first draft of 2012 budget...not pretty, but it is what it is! Have you thought about yours? Coupons will sure help with that effort.

I've been writing to some of my favorite products and getting some nice coupons from them in return. I actually got my first FREE ones from Mission Tortilla Chips!

We are supposed to receive either 4 or 5 inserts this week. I'm confused, I thought we weren't supposed to get any on a holiday? Not sure what's up there. I have a ton of coups that expire on 12/31 boy do I hate throwing them away....it feels like $$ I'm throwing away.

Okay, let's get organized and let's get going into 2012 with a mission to be Savvy Money Savers! God Bless and Happy New Year to you all!

Blessings, Rg

No coupons this week

Truthfully, I wasn't expecting that! I guess I was too busy and not paying attention! Take a break from your coupons or print some if you must have some. Target.com, coupons.com and there are others, redplum.com and smartsavers.com. Me? I'm taking a break, I don't expect there to be coupons for the next 2 weeks, because both of the next 2 Sundays are holidays, but I sure wasn't expecting it this week.

Okay then, if we see anything that are must have great deals....let us know. Otherwise, have a Merry Christmas and a safe, happy, healthy, joyful, family-filled New Year. Let's vow that next year, we will be even better at being...
SAVVY MONEY SAVERS! Thanks for hanging with us this year, it's been a good year.

Love and Blessings to you and yours....Rhonda Goff

Emailing for Coupons

I just sent out 3 more emails to companies that I feel are really good products. They like to hear our compliments. At any rate, I've received some very nice coupons from some of these companies. If you have time, go to addictedtosaving.com website, under the tab coupons, there is a place that says "emailing for coupons", go in there into one of the articles that say read more, there will be a place at the end with a full list of places she has sent off to. I just choose the ones I really feel strongly about. Today I sent to Jif Peanut Butter, Mission Tortilla Chips and Juicy Juice (which my grand kids love). I will keep you posted on what I get back. Also today, I sent off my Woolite pet odor & Stain remover +oxygen rebate. I will get the entire price back from them, which I think was $5.49. It works great too! With a puppy in the house, I should have bought a case! ha.

One other thing I wanted to mention, we all got coupons for Oral B electric toothbrushes and online there is a rebate form for $20 back AND if you buy one at Bed, Bath & Beyond and save 20% on it, with the coupon and everything, you can save some serious money on this item. It's has to be purchased by 12/31/11.

Okay, that's it for now. I hope you are all ready for Christmas and not suffering stress and burnout from all the last minute stuff. God Bless and Be Savvy. Rg

Shopping Trip..Thursday 12/15

Started out at Petsmart..my friend Dianna gave me a Pet Supermarket Coupon for $5 off of $25 (which Petsmart takes) ...Got my organic dog food, Milk Bones a couple of puppy gifts and saved $7.50 with coupons and another $3.48 with my pet perks card. On to AC Moore...saved nothing there, everything I bought was already on sale! The nerve and the audacity!

Publix was next...Celery was bogo .99 each, Totino's Pizza Rolls were bogo, had some chinsy .40 off 2, they cost me $1.79 each, I thought they would be good for our Christmas Eve Shindig, Breakstone Sour Cream was bogo at $1.34 each, had coups for $100 off 2 making them .84 each, Ocean Spray Cranberry Juices were bogo and there was a Target Coupon that if you bought 2, you could get a 4 pack of the new Sparkling Cranberry Juice...the freeby was normally $3.99, Zephyrhills Sparkling Waters 1Lit. were .99 bogo, so .49 each, MFG Coupon on FB Zephyrhills site for $1 off 1, got 2 for free. Kraft Philly Cream Cheese was 4 for $5, I had a MFG coupon out of the Deliciously Simple Holidays Recipe book I picked up in the store, it had a coupon that if you bought 3 of several named products, you got $1.25 off...those ended up costing me .93 each, Gold Medal Unbleached Flour Publix coup for $1 off made it $2.09. Breath Right Nasal Strips were $12.79, I had a Publix Coupon for $2 off 1 and a MfG coup for $2 off 1 making those $8.79...I know they're pricey, but I can't sleep without them or my throat feels like it's been cut during the night! I have a cheesecake recipe that calls for Graham Crackers, so I had a Keebler Coupon or $1 off 2, so Billy got the other cookies. Dixie Crystals Powdered sugar was $2.55 for the big bag, I had coups one Publix and 1 MFG giving me $1.10 off 1, making that $1.45. Solo Cups, I had a coupon for $2.50 off 2, they were $3.29 each, but came down to $2.04 after coups. Not bad all in all, $128.77 in goods for $68.54.

On to Winn Dixie...I was on a roll! I have to tell you, I spent more here, but got good value on the things I bought. We are making Ginger Bread Houses on Christmas Eve with 5 of the grand kids...so...I had to buy some candies and things to go on those and of course, I had no coupons for those! Egglands Best eggs were $3.19 per dozen, I had coups for .55 off each one. Man, after having chickens for so long, I hate to buy eggs! Benefiber Sticks were $13.49, I had a coupon for $2 off 1. That's my complete story and I'm stickin to it! God Bless and don't forget to be nice to these stressed out cashiers and sales clerks. God Bless and send me your Savvymoneysaver stories! Rg

Yikes!

I've been looking over the grocery ads...not seeing too much that's a great deal. Of course, at this time of year, we are all baking and entertaining and they know we will buy what we need anyway, right? I guess that's why there aren't many good sales??? I have to shop this week, since I didn't last week. I will let you know what I stir up in the "good deals" department, if anything.

Keep your eyes open for those "sneaky" deals that you don't find out about til you're in the store! I would keep my coupon binders close at hand right now and especially the first of the year. Lots and lots of things get marked down after Christmas and New Years. I've been known to Christmas shop after Christmas for the next year. I haven't paid full price for gift wrap or Christmas cards and bows for many years.

Okay, that's if for now, let me know if you all find anything great!

God Bless.....Rg

Good Friday Morning!

I know you are all really busy during this time of year, as I am. It's real easy to get caught up in all the hoopla and forget the real reason for the season.....let's not do that. Jesus is still the reason, the gift to all of us and yes, it's called "Christmas" not holiday. We celebrate Christ's Birthday on December 25! That's not politically correct....I don't care, tough toenails. It is what it is. Okay, that being said, I will get off my soap box, I just get aggravated with all the media hype and the politically correctness they think they are doing this time of year. (I am not speaking for anyone else here, just me).

I shopped big last week, have not shopped this week, I wasn't overly thrilled with the sales again. Have you all found anything wonderful? I may not even shop this week, I do need a few staples that I don't have coups for, but other than that, I just don't think so. I will say that overall this year, I am really proud of us and the $$ we've saved compared to prior years. I can't imagine shopping any other way now, it's become such a way of life for me and I really do enjoy it. (I used to hate grocery shopping). It's a challenge to see what I can get for free or almost free.

At any rate, be nice to someone and to yourselves....don't get caught up in the hype. Hopefully I will have some good deals for us for next week. I don't post them anymore until I actually "do" the deals, so that I know they really work with the coupons we have. Have a wonderful weekend, see ya next week.

Love and God Bless, Rhonda Goff

Drug Store deals

Sad to say....after looking through the ads and my coupons....I didn't really see anything at CVS or Walgreens that excited me...am I getting jaded in my couponning? If the drug stores don't pick up the pace and start offering some better sales, I'll be forced to go back to the grocery store and Walmart for my healthcare, make up and soap items. Sorry guys, I'm just not feeling the "coupon love" from the drug stores lately. They actually MAKE extra money by accepting the coupons....so what's the deal? They make more money on you and I than they do on the non-couponers. Oh well, hopefully there will be something of interest in the grocery stores this week. I'll get back to you on Wed/Thursday.

God bless and let me hear if you all find some things I missed.

I shopped Walmart & Winn Dixie today

Here's the highlights. WaLmart..I bought mostly baking things, but had coups for those, but no Big deals. I know what you're thinking....it's way too late for Age Defying face stuff....you're probably right, but I can always try, right?

I did well at Winn Dixie...I bought $133.97 in goods for $59.47! Not bad. Land o Frost 3oz Bistro lunch meats were bogo at $3.89 for 2, used my $1 off 1 coupons, got those for .94 per package. The Post Cereals were for the children's cereals, I only bought 1 Great Grains for $3.59 after $1 off coupon, the Kellogs and General Mills that were bogo were also the kids type cereals, didn't buy any. Center Cut Pork Chops were bogo and real nice, I bought 4 packages. Green Giant canned corn & green beans were bogo at $1.39 for 2, after my .50 off 2 coupon, they were .44 each. Okay, that was it for today. I hope you all find some goodies you need too. Keep us posted.

God Bless......Rg

Wed & Thursday Ads

From looking over the ads, IF I do much this week at all....feeling a bit broke this week...it will be Winn Dixie and Walmart for me. I didn't see much at all at Publix for tomorrow. Let me know what you all are doing, maybe you see something that I don't...that is highly possible! After all the Thanksgiving shopping and planning, I'm not much in the mood to shop this week to tell you the truth. I am running low on cereal and can you believe I'm out of dryer sheets...good grief! I guess I've given them all away. More will come my way. Take care and if you see any deals the rest of us need to know about, let us know please. God Bless...Rg

Hello all

I'm back from North Carolina. How did you all do for Black Friday Sales? There were lots of freebies at the drug stores and some really good deals, but you had to get there early...which I wasn't early enough even at midnight! I actually did better on Cyber Monday Sales, I got some nice deals on Christmas gifts. I was able to cash in my swag bucks free Amazon cards to buy some movies for a Christmas gift.

Remember the deal with P & G if you spent $25.00 on Olay products, you could send in for a Pink (breast cancer awareness) baking set? Mine came today, wow, what a nice set. It contains 3 measuring cups, 3 covered mixing bowls, a spatula, a silicone cookie sheet and a regular cookie sheet.....It has to be worth at least $25. I also got in the mail from one of my email letters to companies ...Chicken of the Sea coupons for .25 off any product, not great but better than what I had, which was none.

Looking forward to the ads tomorrow, my stockpile is a bit depleted after Thanksgiving! I can't believe I am down to 2 boxes of cereal....good grief! Cereal shortage! I'm gonna be looking for things to to make gift bags with, I have some things, but need some more. Okay, shifting in to high gear for Christmas....I really don't have much shopping left to do, since I buy all year, but I'm missing a few things. I hope you are not stressing out at this time of year. I hopefully will get my tree up this week and the rest of the decorations up.

I'll post after the ads are out tomorrow and I figure out what I'm doing.

Have a great week and God Bless.....Rg

Saturday I hit Walmart and Publix

I did pretty well at Walmart...I did my first ever price match, it went without a hitch. WD had Breathrite Nasal strips advertised for $9.99, they run $11.99 at Walmart, did my price match and I had a $2 off coupon so I paid $7.99 for those, I got a bunch of Campbells Cream of mushroom soups...they were on sale for .60 each, I ended up at .54 each after my coupons. Meow Mix cat food after coupons was $2.98 per 3 # bag. I'm making bananna pudding for church tomorrow, I didn't have coups for any of that, but all in all I did okay there. Now on the to fun at Publix...

The Marie Callenders Pie deal was my most favorite deal...here's how it went: 3 Marie Callender Pies at $7.29 each and 1 Reddi Whip was $2.00, total for the 4 items was $23.87. I had a publix coup if you bought 2, you got 1 pie free...deduct $7.29, I had a Target coup if you bought 2 of the pies and a reddi whip, you got $1.50 off, I had another Publix coupon if you bought 2 of the pies, you got a free Reddiwhip, minus another $2, I had .25 off Reddi whip, I had $1 off each pie...total at the end was $9.83 for 3 pies and 1 reddi-whip....can you believe that? You can't bake a pie for $3! They are nice BIG pies too, with a ton of different kinds. I got Welchs Grape juices for church, they were bogo AND I had $1 off each of them, then a nice couponer lady gave me 3 WD coupons for $1 off 2 of them, they ended up at .49 each! Carnation Evap milk was bogo for $1.45, I had coups for .50 off 2, making those .47 each, Ziploc storage & freezer bags were $2.50 each, I had coups for $1.00 off 2, making those $2 each, Stouffers family size entrees were $3.99, I had mfg coup for $1 off each, making those $2.99...can you make lasagna for $2.99? I don't think so. Cool Whip was bogo, Benefiber was $11.99, I had a mfg coup for $2 off and a Target coup for $2.00 off, making those $7.99. Pam Cooking Spray was $3.29 for 2 they were bogo, I had coups for .35 off each one making those $1.29 each, Wesson Oil was bogo at $4.39, I had coups off each one .30 off 1, making those $1.89 each, Oscar Mayer bacon was $3.50 each, I had a $1 off coupon making those $2.50, I think that was a Target Coupon. Then...the Vanity Fair deal. Nice one. Vanity Fair napkins were bogo, I had a coupon for $1 off 2 of them, making those .64 each for 2 pkgs of 100 each. The plates I had a coupon for $2 off 2 of those, making those .97 each. I had a real big stack of coupons. I bought some other things also, the little girl that was bagging for me at the end whispered to me....How much did you save? I spent $113.56 and SAVED $118.92! I had a blast! This is too much fun to be legal! All I can say is Thanks be to God....He gets the glory for my learning to do this, Vicki for teaching me and to benefit our church food pantry and others as well. Have a great weekend and Thanksgiving. Get some deals for yourself and let the rest of us know what your best deals are. God Bless and I will be out of pocket next week, so unless I have access to a computer, you will be on your own for Black Friday...make the best of it, and don't forget to always be polite, these cashiers will be stressed to the max, you can bet on that. Spread some fun and holiday cheer and smiles. God Bless and be a Savvy Money Saver always! ...Rg

I did not make it shopping today, feeling a little under the weather

But I have not been idle either! On FB, I keep seeing ads from places like Southern Savers and Addicted to Savings and Wildforwags....somehow they have gotten hold of the Black Friday ads for Walgreens and CVS (and other stores as well).....good grief! There is a ton of free stuff...remember in class where we showed you how to buy several items that give you ECB or rewards?? Then you do a 2nd deal using the ECB's or Rewards from the first deal? There is a ton at Walgreens and CVS if you plan on hitting them on Black Friday! Wow! There are other stores as well, I already have my CVS & Walgreens deals all planned out for Black Friday! Let's make hay while the sun shines.

I plan to do Publix and Walmart tomorrow, I hate to shop on Saturdays, but ....anyway, check out the deals that are posted for Black Friday, there are many depending on what you might be looking for.

God Bless.....Rg

Wednesday Winn Dixie run

I did a quick run through at WD. I did pretty well, actually. They had Duncan Hines cake mixes bogo, we have a coupon that if we buy one cake mix and 1 can of comstock pie filling, we will save .55. Well, WD doesn't sell comstock pie filling, so I asked one of the stockers in that aisle if I could substitute the Lucky Leaf pie filling, she said I could. When I checked out, I was watching to see what would happen when they hit my coupon and it went right on through. I got 2 Duncan Hines cake mixes and 2 lucky leaf cherry pie fillings for $5.09 or $1.27 per item...the Pie Filling sold for $3.39, but on sale for $2 and the cake mixes were $2.19 for 2. Not a bad deal at all. I had to have them to make my dump cakes. Ziploc gallon size bags were $2.50 each, had a coup for $1 off 2, Reynolds Turkey bags were $3.82 for 2, with a coupon for .50 off 1, so I paid $1.41 each, Dixie Crystal powdered sugar and brown sugar were on sale for .99 each, I had .50 off each coupons, making those .49, Vanity Fair Dinner Napkins were $2 each, I had coup for $1 off 2, making those $1.50 each, Jimmy Dean Sausage rolls were 4 for $10, I had coups for .75 off each one, making those $7 for 4, or $1.75 each. Argo corn starch was $1.69 with a coup for .30 off 1, or $1.39 each. I bought quite a few of the different size foil pans for carrying food places, they were NOT on sale, but I had to have them. All in all, I spent $53.54 and saved $28.61. Not too bad. They had some other decent deals, but this is all I needed. I am also up to .25 off per gallon on my next fill up, which will help when we return our rental car from our trip to NC, we'll use the .25 off then. Okay, tomorrow I have a funeral, so Friday I will do Publix and maybe Walmart. I am anxious to try my pie deal. he he.

Have a good week, God Bless.....Rg

Working on my shopping lists, how bout you?

Looks like WD has some awfully good buys out there. Check out their ad. Publix too....okay, the Marie Callender pies are $7.29 at Publix. Yellow advantage buy deal is buy 2 get 1 free, we also have a store coupon for free Reddi whip when you buy the 2 pies, we have a coup on the reddi whip, we also have a target coup that says $1.50 off 2 pies and free reddi whip. And we have the MFG coupon for $1 off each pie. Holy cow! What to do, I will let you know on Friday, I'm gonna try to use ALL those coupons and I'll let you know. Well, maybe not all, I think I will have to choose between the target one and the Publix one, or will they give me 2 reddi whips??? I honestly don't know! We'll have to wait and see.

Not to be outdone....you had better check the Walmart Ad too! It looks like they may have some even better prices on some of the things you need for your Thanksgiving Feast!

Keep me posted on what you all find out there to be good deals. I won't be shopping til Friday, only a short WD trip this morning because I have 2 cakes to bake and I need a few things for those. Get out there and get those deals....God bless and Be Savvy.......Rg...and don't forget to be polite!

Monday 11/14

I have my food coupons in my book, but not the non-food coupons. I've looked through some of the ads, but I am not posting until I actually do the deals. If you want to look at what's suggested, go to southernsavers.com, momsbyheart.com does a page by page of the Walgreens flier...maybe CVS too, I'm not sure. Savingthefamilymoney.com is a local girl who does suggestions also.

I do have one thing that intrigues me in the coupons.....Marie Calandar fruit pies......I want to try this one and see if it works, when the price is right on the pies of course...I have 1 publix coup that says if I buy 2 pies, I get a free Reddi Whip, then I have a publix coup that says if I buy 2 pies, I get 1 free, then I have Mfg coups for $1 off each pie and mfg coups for .25 off Reddi Whip. Sounds complicated, but I can't see any reason why it shouldn't work. If you are looking for good pies for Thanksgiving, keep an eye open on this one.

And I saw a coupon in Walgreens for Lindsay Olives for .99, in our family, olives have always been a big part of Thanksgiving and Christmas. Last year, we had a ton of coupons for these, I don't have any this year. Maybe I should look on their website.

Don't forget to try and send email letters to some of your favorite products, sometimes you get coups for cents off the items or free! Addictedtosavings.com has a sample letter and email addresses for some of your favorite products. I think it's under the coupon tag??

Have a great week, and I will keep you posted on what I find this week that actually works!

Blessings.....and be SAVVY! Rg

Friday WD & Target

I didn't do big shopping this week, but here's what I did do today.

WD had those booklets out for Veterans Day with coupons in them...I bought 4 of my Truvia sweetners which were $3.99 each, used a $1 off WD VD coupon and a $1 off mfg coupon making them $1.99 each. Bought a few other things and used my $5 off $30 coupon...spent $23.03 and saved $14.70.

PetSmart let me use 2 of the $2 off Pet Supermarket coupons on my dog food and treats!

Target...went to pick up a new perscription, had a coupon for a $10 gift card for a new perscription. Picked up some buns & cheese and I needed mascara, etc. Loreal Revitalift moisturizer was $12.79 for the small one, I had a $2 off coupon. Loreal mascara was $5.84, had a $1 off coupon and Loreal Eyeliner was $7.49, I had $1 off had a couple of other things in the cart. Used my $10 Target Gift Card and my $10 Visa gift card from Procter & Gamble that I received in the mail the other day and after my coupons, I got $60.03 in products for $23.03. Not too shabby. Oh, and I used my 5% off my total order Redcard also.

All the little things we do can really add up. I also got samples in the mail this week along with more coupons.

Also, I almost forgot, I picked up my organic fruits & veggies Thursday ...again the bag was packed with nutritious non-poisonous goodness. Good week, but I'm a little tired! How bout you, how did you do this week? Love to hear from you all.

God Bless.....Rg

Mailbox Surprises

I've been trying to send 1 or 2 emails per week to companies letting them know how much I like their products...only if I really do of course. Duncan Hines sent me a .75 off coupon on any mix, I sent an email last week to Emerald Nuts and received today $7 in coupons for various products of theirs. I fill out surveys every so often for a company called Shoppers Voice, and today I received $17.55 in various coupons. If you don't work and can, some of these little tricks really pay off in coupons, or play money as I call it. I haven't gotten any FREE ones yet, but I hope to soon. I'll keep ya posted on how I do with this endeavor. There is a list of companies with a sample email to send on addictedtosavings.com. You have to hunt for it, I find it every time accidently, so I can't tell you where to look for it. God Bless....Rg

Wednesday ads for Thursday

I've decided NOT to recommend any shopping scenarios until I have actually DONE them myself. Too many times, the sites recommend deals with coupons that we just don't have for some reason. That being said....I've been looking through the ads this morning, checking southernsavers.com and other sites....I'm not shopping this week! I've been on an every other week plan (because of how my husband's paycheck falls) and it seems to be working out well for me. (Of course, I do have my stockpile in pretty good shape). I did a big shop last week (pay week) did really well, and I don't see anything earth shaking that I need this week! So... if you NEED to shop, check southernsavers.com or savingthefamilymoney.com and check out their recommendations. If you all see and Do a deal where something is FREE or almost FREE, let us know and we will post on the blog. If Vicki or I run into a GREAT deal, and we actually DO the deal and it works, we will let you all know.

I also wanted to mention, some of these sites that you sign up for have deals on toys, clothes, electronics all sorts of things where you can save money on your your Christmas shopping. Let us know if any of you do any of these deals, how you did it and what you saved.

Okay, that's it for me today.....Be Savvy and God Bless....RG

This just in from Vicki out in the field....

The peanut butter at Walgreens and CVS are for a much smaller jar - so Publix will be the best deal. I just bought Peter Pan peanut butter at Publix for $2.99 for 28oz - normally $4.49 - that's like $1.50 off without a coupon. Now we've got the coupon to go with it. I got 6 yesterday without coupons - going to get more before the sale ends Wednesday. The sale at Publix ends on Wednesday, print those coupons and go get some pnut butter while you can afford it. Thanks, Vicki.

Zaycon Foods Ground Beef

I picked up my 40# of ground beef this morning and am in the process of packaging it for the freezer with my food saver. I had to take a little break to cook myself a Cheese burger....with organic lettuce and tomato on it...no bread. Oh my goodness, very tasty meat, not a bunch of grease. I am so pleased, just like I was with the chicken we got last time. I'm a believer and I will keep being a loyal customer as long as they keep bringing us these great deals. BYW my meat was not a full 40 pounds, so Zaycon had already credited my account for $6.35 towards my next order. Great meat AND they are honest....what a great combo in this day and age. They said today that they will be coming back in January with either bacon or chicken. Did you sign up yet to get on their email list? Savvy Money Saver....Rhonda...God Bless.

Vicki found us a pnut butter coupon

Go below to print, I was able to print 2 of them. I think we heard pnut butter is going up 40% or it already has so this could be a good one. I have not seen Peter Pan on sale anywhere yet, we'll check our weekly ads, if I see it I'll let you all know. Just print the coupons and hang onto them for a sale. Jif is on sale at CVS 2 for $5, with $3 extra bucks back and Skippy at Walgreens 2 for $4. Ya might want to grab some even without coupons, it may go much higher and if peanut butter is a staple at your house....like it is at ours, you don't want to run out and have to buy it at an inflated price. Okay, that's it for now. I am picking up my Zaycon Lean ground beef today...40 pounds of it so you know what I'll be doing this afternoon....packaging and freezing.

My 2nd trip to Publix

This might seem excessive to some of you, but I use Swanson broths for everything. I now have 28 cartons, we got new coupons this weekend, enough for 12 more, so I went and bought them while the bogo sale was still on. Also, the bogo 8'oclock coffee was still on and Opal brought me 2 more coupons, so I HAD to get those. I only have 10 of those in the freezer right now. I did the Halls cough drop deal.....They were a little more than I thought, but using the Publix coupon and the MFG coupon, they were .69 each instead of $1.69 each. And Karen, from Savingthefamilymoney.com gave us Dole coupons that gave us free cans of Dole Fruits! Whoo hoo! Once again, I saved more than I spent! I spent $36.30 for 81.00 in goods...saving $44.70! Whoo hoo! Another good day of being a Savvy Money Saver.....God Bless.....RG

Friday Publix & WD Shop

My apologies for the things I posted that required the Conagra/Publix coupon for $3 off 2 various items. I can't find the darn thing either. If any of you find it, holler.

Publix-Got the TGI Fridays single serve frozen entrees...FREE they were bogo and using the Publix coup for $1 off and the MFG coup for $1 off I actually made .6 each on those. Bought 6 of the 8'oclock
coffees were bogo, I had $1 off each one, making them $2.49 each. I bought 16 of the Swanson Broths that were bogo, with a coup for $1 off 2 and $1 off 3, I ended up at about .92 each. Zatarans frozen entrees were bogo, I had $1 off 2, they ended up at .99 each. Now, where can you eat lunch for .99??? Meow Mix was bogo, I had $1 off each one, those ended up at $1.49 each for the 3 pound whatever bag. Naval oranges were .62 per pound. Gillette Fusion Shave Gel was $2.99 each, I had coups for $2 off 1, making them .99. 3M Scotch Packing tape was bogo, ended up at $1.34 each. I even bought Billy a Lemon Meringue Pie and lunch meat & deli cheese. This almost never happens to me, but I saved more than I spent! whoo hoo! I spent $64.48 for $160.27 in groceries! Saved $95.79 all told. I'm a happy camper. That's a 67% savings, right? Wow.

WD-I bought one of the Grade A turkeys for .79 per pound, just to have on hand. I burned off a bunch of Pringles coups, they were less than $1 each, I did 2 of the State Fair Corndog/Country crock mac & cheese deals (those mac & cheese freeze just fine btw), I had .55 off the corndogs and $1 off the mac & cheese. Not the best deal ever, but I thought it would be good to have over the holidays for kids etc. I had to buy stuff for my church cheese ball and crackers, which I did not have coups for and several other things I didn't have coups for. ended up at $111.47 and $58.91 in savings. Not too awful bad, but nothing to really brag about. Still 53% though, I think. I'm no math whiz for sure.

Did not get to Walmart this week, probably won't before the new ad comes out on Sunday. No big loss, I'm sure.

Okay, have fun being savvy....God Bless....RG

Tuesday 11/1/11

Hi all, I've been looking over the ads and what's coming up at the different stores, I'll give you all my top picks this evening. However, there is a $3off fresh or frozen Butterball Turkey (I doubt it will last long so I didn't want you to miss it) when you buy 4 other products ie. Stove Top Stuffing (I think we have coups for those), Heinz gravy, Pillsbury Crescent Rolls (I know we have a ton of those coupons). There were many other good coupons you need to print that will come in handy for your holiday shopping. I found the Butterball one on coupons.com. Did you know (I can't remember who told me this) that you can buy turkeys while they are cheaper, have the store cut them in half, wrap well and put in the freezer to cook at a later date. I never thought about having them cut in 1/2 so you don't have to cook a huge one. Good idea, huh?

Also, go to www.stockingspree.com and sign up for the coupon booklet that will be out 12/3-10...this is a sign up only deal (it says) netting us $64 in coupons coming by mail.

Publix has 8'oclock coffee bogo this week, I don't have nearly enough coupons, I've been printing all I can find. I went on bricks.com and they have some under their campbells coupons, which are also nice coups. If anyone hates 8'oclock coffee and has extra coups, I'll be happy to take them off your hands.

Okay, that's it for now. Be savvy and God Bless....RG

Walmart's Price Matching policy for Christmas

WOW...this is pretty interesting, thought I'd pass it along...

Walmart sent a press release with great news about their price guarantee for the Holiday Season. There was a conference call at 11am EST, so I wanted to participate in that before posting, in case there were any additional details to tell you about.

The Price Guarantee means Walmart will offer shoppers a refund on the difference if they find the same product they purchased at a Wal-Mart store, advertised for a lower price elsewhere in the same market.

Here’w how to get your refund:

  • Simply bring in their original Walmart cash register receipt and the local competitor’s current printed ad to Walmart’s Customer Service desk through Dec. 25.
  • Once validated, a gift card for the difference will be issued.
  • Items placed on layaway will also be eligible for the Christmas Price Guarantee.
  • Black Friday and Internet Prices are Excluded

Sunday 10/30/11

Just a reminder....the new Target coups are loaded and ready for you to print. I just printed mine. Get em while there hot, once they're gone, they're gone...even if you don't think you will use them, we are coming up on Black Friday and Target has many coupons for toys & games, ladies denim, purses, winter outerwear...print them anyway, you may find that the Black Friday sales will allow you to get gifts at a really good price. They even have some electronics coupons. Then I imagine by Tuesday, we should be able to go online and print all the coupons.com, smartsource, redplum and whoever else you print. I am really looking forward to Black Friday this year, fully armed with my coupon books, aren't you??? I'm excited! Okay, be careful tomorrow, if you go to our church, get out there and help with Fall Festival....it's about them, not us! God Bless and be savvy....RG

Just placed my order with Zaycon Foods for the ground beef

Orders must be made by this Friday. Total for 40 pounds of lean ground beef was $115.60. The meat will be ready for pick up at Orange Park Kennel Club parking lot, 455 Park Avenue on Tuesday, November 8 from 10A-10:30A. It's real easy, you don't even have to get out of your car. Hand them your receipt (which you print out and keep after you order), and they will load the box into your vehicle. Just think of all the chile and spaghetti I can make this winter....tacos, all that stuff. I hope some of you will take advantage of this deal. It sure worked out good for the chicken deal. Be Savvy....God bless...RG

Here's what we're getting from the Neighborhood Garden this week.

Here's what we're getting this week from The Neighborhood Garden/Jaxorganic.com. 4-5 Gala Apples, 2 Kiwi, 2 Anjou Pears, Bananas, Green Leaf Lettuce, 1-2 Yellow Onions, 10 oz Broccoli Florets, 1-2 Cucumber, 2-3 Squash, Spring Mix, 3-4 Tomatoes, 5 oz Alfalfa Sprouts *List is subject to change due to availability. Zaycon Foods Lean Ground Beef

I just received an email from them which said the Ground Beef is 93/7....93%lean and only 7% fat. That's pretty darn lean. If you are already registered, we are supposed to be able to go to our account and place our order this evening starting at 5:00 PM. These are 40 pound boxes, 4 ten pound tubes. Get a buddy to share with you if you can't handle 40 pounds. I don't know when they are coming or where, hopefully they will tell us that when we go to sign up and pay. If you are not signed up and registered and you want to be...go to https://www.zayconfoods.com/refer/zf40854 . Have a great day, RG

I just checked the Publix & WD ads from last week. Publix had Ground Chuck on sale for $3.29 per pound and WD had Ground Sirloin for $3.99 per pound. Those are sale prices and it didn't say what the fat to lean ratio was on those. Just to give you a better idea.

If you have not signed up for an account, do so, then you will get the emails too. zayconfoods.com. Tell them I sent you. Rhonda Goff

Sunday 10/23/11

Well, kids, I glanced over the ads, glanced at Southernsavers.com and a few other sites.....not much there that I saw. These places are gonna have to do better...coupons are alot of work not to get better results than this! There is a ton of candy on sale, check your ads and coups. For those of you who attend WFWC...we need candy and the Welchs pure grape juice is still bogo at Winn Dixie and we have $1 off coupons, making them $1 each. We need them at church for communion. I think the sale is good til Tuesday. Grab some for church if you can, I grabbed all I could, I only had 4 coupons. Okay, off to the cancer doc tomorrow for my yearly check up, I will try to go deeper into the sale papers tomorrow afternoon. If I come up with anything of interest, I'll be sure to let you all know and you all do the same. Be Savvy and God Bless....RG

The Thursday shop

First off, I picked up my organic bag of veggies and fruits, wow, are they nice! I can't wait for next week. I feel healthier just having them in the house! Jaxorganic.com, a $3 off coupon on facebook under The neighborhood Garden and mention my name and I get something too! Thanks..in advance.

First stop...Winn Dixie...I only bought what I went in for....4 gallons of Welchs grape juice for communion at church and the center cut porkchops that were bogo. They were real nice. I think I spent $14 something.

2nd Stop...Walmart. I did not find everything I was looking for, but did okay. I bought both of the Mentos gum deals, one was .73 and one kind was .28. Got the Nesquick Powder in $1 packages...it makes 7 servings, got those for .40 each. The razors were all gone! I bought 10 of the Brillo Estracel Sponges...there are 2 in each pack for .46 each and Dawn dish soap, got 7 for .72 each. Spent an even $50 for $113.19 in goods.

3rd Stop...Publix..the Bertolli deal was a bust for some reason, they didn't know anything about it so the soup was not on the sale...they better hurry. Got 12 of the Hunts ginormous canned tomatoes for .76 each. Voskos greek yogurts were .25 each I think, I did the Febreeze candle deal and it worked. However, don't put all the coupons together. I bought the 2 big Febreeze candles for $4.99 each, I had the coupon for buy 1 candle get a free set and refresh. Then, I had a coupon that if you bought 2 Febreeze items, you got $2 off. Bottom line, for $5.98, I got 2 of the big candles and 2 sets of set and refresh! I was tickled about that deal, I wasn't sure it would go through. I did the Olay deal....I bought 2 Olay lotions for $5.99 ea, and got one free. I bought 2 -4 packs of Olay soap and got one pack free, those were also $5.99, which qualifies me for the pink bakeware set...whoo hoo. I love love Olay soap and lotion, so I will use these. I bought milk, creamer, bread, lunchmeat, cheese etc. also. I spent $131.27, saved $95.08...total of goods in my basket was $226.35. I feel like I did pretty well. I'm happy with my efforts this day. Let me know how you all do...and if you find some goodies that I didn't.

Have a great rest of the week, God Bless and be savvy.....rg

Wednesday ads for Thursday's plan of attack

This is my plan, if you see something I missed, let me know. EVERYBODY has candy specials, we have a ton of coupons, so there shouldn't be a shortfall at our church Fall Festival.

Winn Dixie...I didn't see much this week, except they have Welch's Grape Juice in the large bottles BOGO for $3.99, we have mfg coupons for $1 off each one, making them .99 each, I only have 4 coups, but if I get there, I will get them for church. Also they have Center Cut Pork chops bogo at $4.99 pound, making them $2.50 pound. Not too bad.

Publix...first off I plan to do the Cooking up early detection deal where I purchase $25 of P & G products in 1 purchase and get a free pink bakeware set. (Being a breast cancer survivor, I'm a sucker for anything pink!) Publix has a coup for Buy 2 Olay Collections body wash, 4 bar soap or hand & body lotion, get 1 Free. I need the body lotion and am hoping that 3 of them hit the $25 mark, if not I will put in something else. Breyers Ice Cream is bogo, Target has coups for .75 off each one, I have 2. Hunts tomatoes & sauce are bogo at $1.99 each. I have enough coups, including the Target ones, to buy 12 and they will be .76 each. Voskos Greek Yogurt is $1 each, there is a Publix coup for $1 off every 3, I have enough for 12. I couldn't find the mfg coups. Febreeze Candles are $4.99..I found mfg coups for Buy 1 candle get a free Febreeze single set & refresh. Since that is two items, I also have another coup for $2 off 2 Febreeze items. Not sure it will work, but gonna try it. And those Bertolli Soup Coupons I told you to hang onto? Whoop Whoop, the skillet meal is $5.99, I hope that includes the Dinner Soup for 2. If so, I have a Publix coup for $2 off 1 and a mfg. coup for $1 off 1, making them $2.99 each. I tried the soups and they are wonderful....however, it's one bowl for each person, so if you eat more, you might want a salad with it or bread. I also have a WD coupon for $5 off $30 I plan to use.

Walmart...has the Dr. Pepper 10 advertised for $1.28...we have coupons for 1 free one...do you think I can find mine? I had them with me the other day, Lord knows where I put them. Guess I better pray to find them. Franks Hot Sauce is .88, we have coups for .50 off 1, making those .38. Mentos Gum Bottles..15 piece are $1.28, we have mfg coups for .55 of 1, making those .73 and Mentos UP2U Gum is also $1.28, with coups for $1 off 1, making those .28. Nestles Quick powder is $1, we have coups for .60 off 1, making those .40...no size restriction on the coupon...love those. LA Looks products, it says they have some for $1.94, we have coups for $1 off, making it .94...whatever It IS? Brillo Estracell (what the heck does Estracell mean anyway?) Sponge product 2 ct. is .96, we have coups for $1 off 2, making those .46 each. Dawn original dish soaps are .97, we have coups for .25 off 1, making those .72. I buy a lot of those, Dawn dish soap actually takes out oil paint, which is handy when I paint...I have a tendency to sling paint all over....he he. Schick Disposable Razor Twin Blade is 12 ct. for $1.97...we have several options here and I'm not sure which one will work. If they all work, I COULD end up with 28 Razors for Free! Wouldn't that be sweet! I will let you know how all this pans out tomorrow. Busy shopping day Thursday AND I pick up my first Organic fruit & veggie order. Can't wait for that.

Have a good week and Be Savvy. God Bless, RG

Eating Organic

I don't know where any of you stand on this issue, but after some research, actually lots of it with my friend, Launa, I feel it's a must for our health. At any rate, yesterday at a coupon meeting we were introduced to The Neighborhood Organic Garden or Jaxorganic.com. You can go online, order the week's offering and pickup wherever you chose from their large list of locations. Check them out. I chose the Chaffee Road Library location for my Thursday at 4:30 pick up. I am so excited to find a way to get organic fruits & veggies weekly and not have to pay the high grocery store prices for organic. I will let you know how it all works out! Also, at the same time, I've learned about Cillas Deals on Facebook. This young lady shops organic and natural and STILL saves money. Check her out as well, I think you will like what you see. Here's to being a savvy money saver AND a savvy health nut! Love, RG

Monday...Free Pink Bakeware set application

I've been looking for the application for this and found it on: http://www.everydaypgsavings.com/Rebate.pdf. Print one for yourself and go for it. It has to be 1 transaction of P & G products before 10/31/11 for $25. Shoot , you can do that with Olay Body lotions...of which Publix has a coupon for buy 2 get one free! I plan on doing this one. At Publix, where I was looking for the ap, I took advantage of a deal on Crest White Strips. They are so expensive. The strips were $29.99, there was a mfg coupon for $10 off and a Publix Coupon for $7.00 off and I had a $5 gift certificate. I ended up paying $10.09 for a 10 day supply. If my teeth blind your eyes out after 10 days, we'll know they work! ha ha.

I perused the sales at the drug stores, walmart etc. and I am choosing to sit this one out again. Come on, stores, give us some meat we can sink our teeth into! I am sadly depleted on razors this year, the coups & sales have just not been real worthwhile that I have found. Especially when last year we were raking them in free all year! Okay, don't lose heart, things will pick back up. When they all realize we're not buying the razors....I bet we'll see better sales coming soon. Okay, have a great week, and I hope to see some good deals in our ads come Thursday. God Bless......RG

Sunday 10/16

We got 3 sets of coupon inserts this morning! Nice! I glanced through them and many go all the way through December and I saw a few Januarys! Food for thought...my daughter and I will be participating in Black Friday....imagine it with coupons??? Especially at the drug stores for any perfumes and make ups or shavers whatever. I bet we can do some damage with our coups and get a head start on Christmas with our coupons. I bet there will even be some deals at our grocery stores that week to entice us in....just be thinking of Black Friday for your coupons...in other words, don't use them carelessly if you want to make the most of Black Friday sales. Have a great week....hope to see you at church. God Bless....RG

Thursday....Target

Didn't get to Target yesterday to pick up meds, so I went today and took my coupon books....whoo hoo, here's a few highlights.

In the Trial Size section of Target, I found Tide samples that do 1 load of wash for .97 each, I had a $1 off coupon that did NOT say no trial size, bought 4 of them. (I don't use Tide, and the coups were getting ready to expire on 10/31, figured I get while the gettin was good)! These trial size make nice additions for a college student or for a gift basket. I also found in that same area...Colgate toothpaste a whole basket that was marked down to .99, (they were not samples, but in the sample area), I had coups for .50 off those, they are full size for .49 each. I used my last Covergirl $8 off 2 face items...I bought 2 more Cheekers Blushers for $7.48, made .52 on those. I now have 14 of them that I MADE a total of $3.64 on! ha. I found Glade candles marked down to $2.54 each, I had .50 off each one and a Target coupon for $1.50 off 2 candles, making them $1.24 each. Last but certainly not least, I found Glade Limited Edition Fall Collection room sprays in Cashmere Woods marked down to $2.15 each, I had .55 off each one making them $1.65 each. Oh, and Blue Bonnet Margarine for some baking I'm doing..... .87 a pound package. Didn't have a coupon, but great price.

Sometimes it just pays....when you have the time...to walk around these stores with coupon books in tow....and take a look around. Go through the trial size aisles, most stores have them now. They mark down so much stuff....and you don't know unless you go look for bargains like I did today. I am really thinking about making a section in my notebooks for coupons that do not have a limit on them....that do not say No Trial Sizes. That way it would go a little faster in your search.

Okay, that is it for me for this week....I did not go grocery shopping this week and I don't intend to until the next ads come out next Thursday. Have a great rest of the week...and remember, be savvy money savers always! Love, RG

Wed. morning ads

Gee, for once, I made a good decision to shop "big" last week! That usually doesn't happen for me. I've been online looking at the newest Publix Ad, Winn Dixie Ad and Walmart...I don't see one thing that I would drive the 10 or so miles to go and get! I didn't even find anything for my stockpile in the ads??? Maybe you all will, if you see something I may have missed, holler. I do have to go pick up meds at Target today...perhaps I'll take my coupon books and see if I can scare up any deals there. I'll let you know. See you in church tonight....I feel like a real savvy shopper this week...being that I did the bulk of my shopping last week! RG
