Monday 2/27/12

The weather cleared for just a bit today, so I went out to get puppy food and did a quick run through at Wags and CVS while I was out. Remember me telling you about writing kudo emails to some of my favorite products? One of those was my dog/puppy food to Organix. They sent me some really good coupons, so today I used a $3 off mfg coupon and a $2 off Petsupermarket coupon at Petsmart. I saved a total of $5 off my puppy food.

Next, Wags....I did 4 deals at Wags. The Natrol Melatonin was $4 and you got back a $4 RR. Then I bought the Finish Dishwasher soap for $3.99, had a mfg coupon for .75 off 1, and got a $1.50 RR. My 2nd deal was the Belvita breakfast bar was $2.99, I had a coup for $1 off 1 and got back $1.99 in RR. My 3rd deal was the Playtex tampons for $7.49, had a $1 off 1 coupon and got back $2 in RR, and bought the Schick Hydro razor for $9.99, had a $2 off coupon and got back $4 in RR. I used my RR from the previous deals in the amount of $6. My 4th deal was Head & Shoulders shampoo was $5.99 and 50% off the conditioner and I had a mfg coupon for $1 off 2 and used the rest of my RR on this deal. Total value today at Wags was $49.88 and my oop was $21.62, not too bad. Saved a total of $28.26.

Next CVS....I bought another Schick Hydro (the men in our family really love this razor) for 8.49, had a $2 off coup and got back $4 in RR. For buying $20 worth of Nexxus products I got back a $7 RR, I bought 2 of my comb though hairsprays. They were out of the free Themacares. 2nd deal, I was out of Breatherite which are normally around $12.99, they were on sale for $9.99, I had coupons for $2 off each one, bought 3 and needed more mucinex for my cold, which was on sale for $11.99, no coupon but I needed it. And bought 1 of the Gevelia coffees were on sale for $6.99, had a $2 off 1 coupon. I used my $11 RR from the first deal on this one. I ended up at $99.36 in product $63.02. Not great, but if you'll notice, all the items I needed were high dollar items that I could have spent almost $100 on! So I didn't feel $63 was too bad. All in all I had $149.24 in product for $84.64 including both places.

Don't forget to count up your coupons including your RR and make sure you have an item for each one. I found in the Easter Aisle Easter pens for .50 each at Walgreens and I used gum, which I needed at CVS.

Have a good week, let me know if you find some really good deals. By the way, the Natrol Melatonin works really well for helping you sleep. When I don't take it, I usually regret it. Try it....it's for all intents and purposes FREE at Wags this week!

Thursday 2/23/12

I've been looking at the ads, however, I won't be shopping this week, not feeling well. It looks like several of the deals at Publix from last week are bogo for this week also such as Progresso,Green Giant and a couple more I noticed. Go to Southernsavers.com and check out the ad and match ups for yourself, you'll see what I mean.

Sorry to leave you hanging.....

Friday's shop 2/17/12

Wow! I think I did great, there are some really good deals out there this week. Don't forget, if you're gonna do any of the Walmart deals, do them before Sunday. Everything will change on Sunday at Walmart. Also, we are only getting 1 insert this Sunday according to the "all knowing couponers" powers that be!

Walmart was first. Kraft Parm Cheese (the 3oz) were $1.78, we had coups for .55/1 making those $1.23 each, bought 4. SeaPak Shrimp Poppers were 6 0z $1.67, we had coups for .75/1 making those .92, bought 4. Nature Made Fish Oil vits were $5.96, had a $2/1 coup making those $3.96. Brawny Paper Towels, 1 roll was $1.77, we had coups for $1/1, making those .77 per roll. Bought 2 (it was a printable coupon I found on Happymoneysaver.com). Viva Paper towels were $1.97 per roll, had coupons for $1/1 making those .97 per roll, bought 4. Wagon Train Dog jerky treats 3oz ended up at .87 per package after coups. Carpet Fresh was .99, we had $1/1, those were free and I made .08 overage....every little bit helps. Dulcolax 8ct. tabs were $1.98 each, had coups for $3/2, those ended up at .48 each. Nivea Lip care balms were $2.47 each, we had coups for $3/2, those ended up at .97 each, bought 4. Total spent $47.36 for $80.54 in goods, saved $33.18. Not too bad. They were out of a couple of things I went for....The Benefiber 16 ct and the Breathe Right Nasal strips 2ct. I would have made $$ on the strips.

Next stop....Publix. These were both the stores off Brananfield Road. Muellers pasta was bogo, I had no coups but still a good deal at .73 each. Bought 2, I'll probably regret not buying more. Hunts 100% Natural tomatoes were bogo at $1.99 or .99 each. Had a Target coup for $1/3 and mfg.45/3. Ended up at .51 each, these are the large cans. bought 9.
Wish Bone salad dressings were bogo at $2.73, with a Target coup for $1.50/2 and mfg coups for .65/2, ended up at less than .30 each, bought 2. Jennie O Turkey was $2.79 per pound, got 2. Bertolli Frozen meal soups unadvertised special at $4.99 each, normally $7.99 each, we had Target coups for $2/2 and mfg coups for $1 off/1,making those $2.99 each. They are really good if you've not tried them, however....if you or your spouse eat more than 1 bowl of soup, you'll need 2. Green Giant canned veggies were bogo at .84 each...then Publix had a coup for $1/4, those came in at .39 each, bought 16 (some for our church food pantry...no, I'm not hoarding). Progresso Soups were bogo at $1.19 each, Publix coup for $1 off 4, and a mfg coup for $1 off 4, bringing those in at .63 each. Bought 12...some for church too. Arnold Ital Bread was bogo at $1.39 each, from the letters I sent to Arnold bread, they had sent me $1/1, so my 2 breads came in at .39 each! Ha! Smart Balance Spreads with Olive Oil were bogo at $1.79 each, had coups for $1/2 making those $1.29 each, bought 8. Dentastix for my girls were bogo, had coups for $1/2, they were $1.29 each. Progresso various beans were .66 each, Publix had coups for $1/4, bringing those for .41 each, bought 4. Spent $108.42 for $223.25 in goods, saving more than I spent (I love it when that happens) saved $114.83.

I had a pretty good time today! Total OOP was $155.77 for $303.79 in goods, saving a total of $148.01! I call that a successful day's work. Funny thing...first of all, I ran into 4 people from church today in the various stores....I almost never see anyone I know! Cool. A little man was watching me in several aisles and finally said, "Wow, that 's real work isn't it?"...I told him yes, but very well worth the effort. I was also able to give some coupons to an older couple that were buying some of the same dog treats I was buying. I like when I can do that!

That's it for me this week, have a great weekend and God Bless the work of your hands!

P.S. Just finished dinner...in my Publix run, there was an unadvertised sale on Cooked Perfect Italian Meatballs...they were $5.99 and we have a $1/1 coupon, so I paid $4.99. Oh my gosh, they are awesome! I don't usually make meatballs, mine never taste like my daughter's....so I've tried many of the already made ones and most of them are terrible. These are absolutely delicious! I only had 2 coups, so only bought 2 of them, but made red sauce tonight and put them in, wow...and they are gigantic...alomost as big as Bucca D Beppo's meatballs. Use those coups while they're on sale! you won't be sorry.

Tuesday 2/14/12

Happy Valentine's Day everyone!

Last week, I did my Publix Run on Friday. I did well. I got my Lipton Soups for .89 and .79 by using my Publix $1 off 2 and MFG of .60 off 2. The Swanson Broths (they discontinued the by theirs get ours free on those) but they ended up at $1.27 each by using the Publix $1 off 1 and mfg $1.25 off 3. All in all, not a stellar performance but a penny saved is a penny earned. I was making soup, so I bought organic lentils, and barley. Needed organic flour too as well as some other things. Spent $103.59 for $125.23. Not great. But...I always feel that by buying organic when I can, it costs more, but in the long run our health should show the difference at some point.

Looked over the drug store ads....really nothing that "sent" me for sure. I'll take a look at the grocery ads this week...surely there will be something, right?

God Bless.....Rhonda Goff

Wednesday 2/8/12

Looking over the ads and comparing my coupons to the ads. I'll let you all know how that pans out for me. In the Publix ad today, we again have the ability to buy a $50 gas card for $40! I may do that one again, even though I still have $20 on my other one.

Here's what I plan to do, I'm not doing BIG shopping this week, I did that last week. My friend Dianna brought me some Publix coupons that are hanging in the front of the store on a display. They expire on 2/15 so am planning to use them this week. First off, IF you did the deal last week where you spent $100 and got a $10 gift card, don't forget to use it! Swanson's broth or stock, we have Mfg coupons for $1.25 off 3, the Publix coupon is $1 off 1, or $4.25 total off 3 of them. Not sure if this is still the case, but Dianna said they were doing the deal....buy Swanson Broth get ours free. I'll have to look, if it is we could buy 3 Swanson stock, save $4.25 on those and get 3 Publix stock for free! Thanks, Di. Also in the Publix coupons there are Lipton Recipe Secrets $1.00 off 2 and a mfg for .60 off 2, or $1.60 off 2 of those. I use tons of those in various recipes. Then....they had $1 off Ben & Jerrys coupons...not sure if I will do those. Oh, who am I kidding, I more than likely will do the Ben & Jerrys.. hee hee. Okay, I think that will be about it for me....pray for me that I can keep to my list! Oh, one other thing, if you printed those bogo Chiquita Avocado coupons, we better be using those too. I hope Publix carries them. Have a great rest of the week.

God Bless......Rhonda

Thursday 2/2/12...After my Publix shop

Everything went as planned, got my $10 gift card for spending $100. I shopped the Publix on Normandy, they were out of the Breathrite Nasal strips in the 10pks, if anyone sees them, let me know. The Pompeian EVOO was bogo at $6.59, had coupons for $1 off 1. Cheese it snack crackers were bogo at $4.19, had a Target coupon for $1 off 2 and a mfg coup for $1 off 2, came in at $1.10 each....grand boys are coming Saturday, gotta have snacks! Sargento shreds were bogo at $3.99, had coup for .50/2, made those $1.75 each. Downey Unstoppables were $5.99, coup for $2/1, $3.99. Dean's Dips were $2.09, after coups .59 each, coups were mfg and publix. Dove Milk chocolate bags, $1.50 off 2 Target coup and $1.50 off 1 mfg. Grandma's gotta have those to go with the graham crackers and marshmallows for S'mores. I have a little fondue deal that melts chocolates, not a fan of kisses, so we use the Doves. That was kind like a bogo when I got finished. The Blistex lip stuff was indeed $1 each, with our .35 off 1 coup, they were .65 each. Milk bone dog biscuits were 2 for $5, had a bogo coupon, got those for $1.25 each. I hadn't planned on buying a ham, but....the Cumberland Gap hams were on sale for $1.89 per pound, I bought one, those are the best hams I have ever cooked in my life!

Of course, with company coming, I had to buy extra organic milk, extra organic eggs (had coup for those), extra bread and sandwich meat, extra fruits & veggies...you know how it goes. We've got a big shindig Saturday with a bushel of oysters, steaks on the grill, stuffed twice baked potatoes, corn on the cob and salad! It all adds up, but the good news is....normally with company coming in the past before coupons, I would have spent well over $200, closer to $300. Today I spent $157.55 for $232.73 in goods. Not too bad, I don't think. That does not count the steaks....I went to Geiger's Meat Market on Fouracker and bought my steaks there, as well as some other meats for the next couple of weeks. His are the best, if you haven't tried them.

Okay, I'm done for this week, I hope your week has been a good one, with lots of good sales. God Bless....Rhonda Goff

Thursday 2/2/12

I plan to buy 4 of them, 4 X $5.29=$21.16, with (2) of the $5 off coupons and (4) of the $1.50 off coupons, they will be $5.16 for the 4, or about $1.29 each. I'll let you know if I have any trouble or find any other great deals.

Have a blessed rest of the week......Rhonda Goff
