Monday 4/30/12

I didn't see a ton of anything worth going out for.  I did see at Walgreens a 3 transaction deal we can try that will only end up costing us $4.06 out of pocket....oop.  Here is what Southernsavers.com recommends.
Deal 1  Buy 1 Kotex sleek tampon 18 Pack for $3.99,  Use a $1 off 1 MFG coupon , making total due $2.99.  Get back $3 in RR.
Deal 2 Buy 1 Noxema disposable razors, 4pk is $3.99.  Use your $3 RR from the first deal, total due is .99, get back $2 RR.
Deal 3 Buy 2 Starbucks Refreshers for $1.49 each, 1 Rimmel Extra Lash wow mascara, 50% off $3.99 or $1.99?.. 2 Irish Spring Bar soap 3packs, B1G1 at $2.79 and a filler item for .30.  Use your $2 RR from deal 2,  (2) $1.49 off Starbucks in the Pepsico 4/29 Insert, use $1 off Rimmel product...Red Plum 2/12 or 3/11, Use (2) $1 off Irish Spring body wash or bar soaps coupons.  Your total due on this deal should be 8 cents.   I have not tried these yet, but I intend to.

I did not see much of anything at CVS, or Target for that matter.

I am trying out a new way to keep my coupons, evidently it works well for some.  I am really tired of cutting them all out, alphabetizing, putting in the books etc, then throwing them all away when they expire,  it's very time consuming.  I am giving it a try just filing the Red Plum insert week of 4/29/12 or Smart Source week of 4/29/12 etc.  Others are using this system and it's working for them and saving them time.  My only concern is that when I run out of what I consider a staple item, how do I find my coupon?  I've decided that my staple items, I will still cut out and put in my books.  Sometimes, you run out of those BEFORE a sale, so you want to use a coupon for them and not pay full price.  I have also seen on some of the coupon websites where they give you a preview of upcoming coupons for the Sunday paper.  Maybe if we print those out and stash in the front of the folders, it might make things a bit easier to find.  Maybe even store the coupons in the order of the list???  As I progress with this system, I'll try to keep you posted on how it's working out.  It's gonna require us to use the coupon websites even more than we already to.  They always tell you where a coupon comes from, so we can go there to get it.  Find some that you think are up to date for our area and keep a close watch on the.  A few of my favs are Southernsavers.com, addictedtosaving.com, savingthefamilymoney.com (she is a local) and divinedealdivas.com (central Fla).

Okay, that's it for me for today.....have a blessed and savvymoneysaving week!

Friday 4/20/12

You know how some days everything in your shopping endeavors goes absolutely perfectly? This was one of those days and I am basking in it, it doesn't happen often! My first stop was Target, our twin grandchildren are 3 years old today and I needed to get them a present for the party tomorrow. I went on the Target coupon website and whoopie....they had a coupon for $5 off a Fisher Price Wheelies play set.....an over $20 playset, only cost me $16.59, so then I was able to add an additional wheelies car for him....Logan. For Skylar, I found a coupon for 20% off a Dora Explorer Item of $20 or more, the Dora Explorer Fairy Princess doll (it's real big too) was $23.99...normally $29.99. I was tickled to death with these purchases, they are age appropriate and everything! Revlon nail polish, I had a Target coupon for $2 off and a mfg coupon for $1 off, so 1 nail polish cost me $1.99, normally $4.99. I also bought a Method hand soap, had a Target Coupon for $1 off, so it cost me $1.69....these are such nice hand soaps, they foam!

Deal #1 at Publix on Argyle. This is the deal I copied from someone who posted a show & tell on Divine Deal Divias. Now, she evidently had a few coupons that I did not, but I still did well. Here's how I did it. Bought 4 Pepperidge Farm Milano cookies, were bogo at $3.69 for 2, had 4 coupons for .50 off 1, so they cost me $1.34 each. Bought 4 El Montery Taquitos were bogo at $6.49 for 2 of them, had 4 coupons for $1 off each one, they ended up at $2.24 each. Bought 4 Beggin Strips dog treats, bogo for $7.39 for 2, had coups for $1 off 2 of them, they cost me $3.19 each. Softsoaps foaming hand pump soaps were 10 for $10, had Publix coupon for $1 off 2 of them, my mfg coups were expired, or they would have been almost free, but as it were, they were .50 each, bought 4. Totinos pizza stuffers were bogo at $3.99 for 2, had mfg Coups for $.75 off 1, they ended up at $1.24 each, bought 4. Jello Temptations were $2 each, had coups for .75 off each one and a Publix coupon for $1 off 2 packages, bought 2 at .75 each. 3 pack of Dentyne gum was $2.89, had a coupon from Target for $2 off 1, cost me .89. I spent $29.81 for $102.87 in products! Holy Cow! I saved a whopping $73.06! Also remember I had my $5 off $30 Publix coupon.

Deal #2 at Oakleaf Publix. Bought 2 sets of aluminum throw away pans for hauling food around, don't have to get them back so they make perfect sense to me. Bought 2 Whiskas dry cat food for $3.99 each, had a coup for $1 off 1, or $2.99 each. Comet spray bathroom cleaner was on sale for $1.99 each, I had coups for .75/1, bought 2 at $1.24 each. Axe men's deodorants were $4.59 each, had a Publix Coupon for $2/2, had a Target coupon for $1/1 and mfg. coupons for .75/1, bought 2, they ended up being $1.84 each. Lysol toilet bowl cleaner was bogo at $2.29 for 2, had coups for $1/2, bought 8 at .64 each. I reckon I should have clean toilets for the rest of the year....ya think? hee hee. Listerine mouthwash $3 per bottle, bought 2, had coupons mfg was .50 off 1 and Publix coupons for $1 off 1, they ended up at $1.50 each. The large bottles of Pompeian Olive Oil were bogo at $10.99 for 2, I was only able to print 1 coupon off their site which was $1 off 1, so I ended up $4.99 each. 8'oclock coffee was bogo at $6.81 for 2, I was only able to print 2 coupons which were $2 off 2, bought 4 at $2.40 each...wish I had more coupons! Bought 3 Seasonings for 3 for $4, not a bad price for those. They were in the produce department. Digiorno grated cheese was bogo at $4.79 for 2 in the deli department, no coupons but a good deal none the less at $2.39 each. Bought organic bananas for .99 per pound, organic yellow onions were 4.99 per bag, red potatoes were $2.99 for 5 pounds, bought navel oranges for .99 per pound, and a Honeydew melon for $2.50, I hope I picked a good one! Smithfield bacon was $3.50 each for the pound package, remember when I wrote to them and told them how much I liked their products? And they sent me 2 $2 off coupons, so my 2 packages of bacon, thick sliced 1 pound packages only cost me $1.50 each! Needed a couple packages of lean ground beef, got those and needed coffee creamer....Publix brand heavy whipping cream. My order total was $79.12 for $165.39 in groceries....I didn't think that was too bad, I saved more than I spent! I saved $86.27. Now remember.....I had a $5 off $55 coupon from Winn Dixie and a $5 off $30 Publix coupon as well, so $10 of this was those....just so you know. I posted pictures of both of these shops on my FB page if you'd like to take a look. Just friend me if you haven't already.....Rhonda Tacy Goff, and you can see pictures of my shops today!

I am a happy camper with my shopping endeavors for today. I hope you all do as well. Some of the Publix coupons I used today expire today, so be careful with that. Sometimes they will take their own expired coupons, it depends on your store.

Have a great weekend....let me know how you all did!.....God Bless....Rhonda Goff

Friday 4/20/12

Heading out to Publix today......I am shopping 2 separate stores in order to do my 1st deal.....I am copying (for the most part) a deal I read about on Divinedealdivas.com, she is from Central Florida so I want to see if I can get the same deals she did. And I need to burn off 1 of my $5 off $30 Publix coupons that expire next Wednesday. I will let you know how that turns out, already I see several coupons she has that I don't. My 2nd deal at the next Publix (thank goodness they are within about 10 miles of each other so I won't waste gas)is for the rest of my groceries including many coupon deals also, and I have a $5 off $55 Winn Dixie Coupon and a $5 off $30 Publix coupon to burn off. Hopefully, I'll be able to do well at both stores.

I am also going by Target for a couple of things for birthdays for our grandchildren. I found a couple of Target coupons for toys...we'll see if I can score a deal with those.

Okay, stay tuned for the outcome.

Blessing.....Rhonda Goff

Wednesday 4/18/12

I did a quick Winn Dixie and CVS run today. Not huge things on sale, but a few.

CVS ran my card on the way in, got a $1.50 off my purchase right off the bat! Billy and I have decided to start taking our Osteo Biflex again, they had it bogo, and we had $5 off each one! They were $19.49 and one free, I had a two $5 off 1 coupons, and my $1.50 off CVS coupon, made them like $4 each! That was a good one. Bought 2 of the Crunch Raisin Brans, don't try to use your coupon, it didn't work, but they were only $2.50 each. I also bought a Fructis Root lifter for $4.69, had a $1 off 1, making that $3.69. All in all, I spent $20.67 for $57.44 in products, saving $ 36.77. Not a bad trip.

Winn Dixie had Emerald Mixed nuts & cashews bogo for $6.99, I had coups for $1.50 off 2, making those $2.75 each. Ben & Jerry's ice cream was bogo, but only came out to $2.49 each, Boneless Skinless Chicken breasts were bogo, WD Cottage Cheese was on sale for $2.99 carton. All in all, I spent $111.90 for $186.04 in groceries. I saved a total of $74.14. I had to buy eggs, lunchmeat, milk all that stuff that doesn't have coupons. Several things I bought qualified me for an extra .05 off my gas, I am up to a total of .45 off per gallon of my next fill up.

I have not looked at the Publix ad as yet, I'll check that out later in the week. Would you believe I am STILL putting my coupons in the book? I did all the food ones, but still working on the others. Yikes.

Okay, have a blessed week and let me know if you find some good sales......Rhonda Goff

Wednesday 4/11/12

Did a quick Publix run, I only needed a few things. Here's the blow by blow.

Okay, I know as couponers we are not supposed to become attached to certain brands, but I've got to tell you. I ran out of Secret Deodorant a couple of days ago. I've been using the Mitchum. The effects of Mitchum do not last nearly as long as Secret AND it takes forever for Mitchum to dry on your underarm! Luckily, Target had a coupon for $1.00 off 2 and there were Mfg coups for .75 of 1, so I bought 4 and they ended up at $1.64 each, not great but not bad. They are normally $2.89 each at Publix. Sweet Baby Ray Barbecue sauce was bogo at $3.29 for the big ones, or $1.64 each. From my letters to the manufacturers, I received a Free Sweet Baby Ray coupon and a coupon for .50 off one. I used both, bought 4, they ended up at .70 each for the big ones....I love love this barbecue sauce. Clausen pickles were 2 for $4, no coupons but I bought 2 and was able to make some ham salad....just like my mom used to make with them. Tetley large tea bags were $3.69, I had coups for .65 off each one. Like I said, I did a quick run only for a few things. I spent $33.25 for $57.70 in items....I was able to use one of my $5 off $30 coupons that were in Sunday's paper. Yippee! I saved $24.45 total. And the good thing is, I got my deodorant so I won't be stinky or walking around with my arms up in the air waiting to dry! Hee hee.I also wanted to mention, if you are big meat eaters, the Baldwin IGA in Baldwin is having it's Truck Load Meat Sale again this coming Friday, 4/13/12 and they open at 8:00 AM. However, from years passed, I would reccomend getting there earlier than that. They generally have some great deals on meat, especially on steak....you can buy an entire Sirloin or other steak in a huge hunk, the cut it to your specifications! Check them out, they are on Lima Street in Baldwin.

Have a blessed week......Rhonda Goff

Monday 4/9/12

I hope everyone had a very Happy Easter.

I've been going through the ads today, thank heavens....I found a couple of things in the Sunday paper that made my 4 papers all worthwhile! There is a new Publix Ad that started today, there is a new Publix flier....yellow and....here's the biggy...
A Green booklet from Publix titled Publix Spring Cleaning Sale that has a $5 off $30 coupon!!! Woot Woot. We haven't seen one of those in a while! They are good through April 25! That's 17 days! I have 4 of them. Makes shopping a bit more thrilling, huh? Also in the new Publix ad, there is a coupon for $10 off a $50 gas card when you spend $25....that's $50 in gas for $40, this day and time, you can't beat that!

Okay, keep me posted with anything you'all find!

God Bless.....Rhonda Goff

Wednesday 4/4/12

Got surprises in the mail today from my letters to the companies. Got a free trial size of Purex Ultra Pack Laundry Soap and a coupon for .50 off 1. Heard back from Sweet Baby Ray's....they sent me a coupon for 1 free bottle of barbecue sauce and a .50 off 1 coupon. The letters are normally emails with Addicted to Savings .com getting the email info for us. All we have to do is type a short note about what we like about their product. I even got a coupon back when I told Prego I had tried their sauce again and found it way too sweet for our taste. They sent me a $3 off 1 coupon for any one of several different products, including Swanson, so I used it when the broth was on bogo last week. The letters have been paying off for me. If you want to try it, every week addictedtosaving.com does a new one on her site. She even keeps info on the past ones so you can catch up. Try it.

God Bless....Rhonda Goff

Wednesday 4/4/12

Well, no new Publix ad this week, the ad for last week runs through Easter Sunday. New ad will start on 4/9/12, Monday. And thank you Publix for NOT being open on Easter Sunday, I salute you for that.

Winn Dixie has a new ad, check southernsavers.com for a coupon match up for that one. I don't imagine we will have coupons this week, being that Sunday is Easter. If i hear different, I'll let you know.

Have a great rest of the week.

God Bless....Rhonda Goff
