Wed & Thursday Ads

From looking over the ads, IF I do much this week at all....feeling a bit broke this week...it will be Winn Dixie and Walmart for me. I didn't see much at all at Publix for tomorrow. Let me know what you all are doing, maybe you see something that I don't...that is highly possible! After all the Thanksgiving shopping and planning, I'm not much in the mood to shop this week to tell you the truth. I am running low on cereal and can you believe I'm out of dryer sheets...good grief! I guess I've given them all away. More will come my way. Take care and if you see any deals the rest of us need to know about, let us know please. God Bless...Rg

Hello all

I'm back from North Carolina. How did you all do for Black Friday Sales? There were lots of freebies at the drug stores and some really good deals, but you had to get there early...which I wasn't early enough even at midnight! I actually did better on Cyber Monday Sales, I got some nice deals on Christmas gifts. I was able to cash in my swag bucks free Amazon cards to buy some movies for a Christmas gift.

Remember the deal with P & G if you spent $25.00 on Olay products, you could send in for a Pink (breast cancer awareness) baking set? Mine came today, wow, what a nice set. It contains 3 measuring cups, 3 covered mixing bowls, a spatula, a silicone cookie sheet and a regular cookie sheet.....It has to be worth at least $25. I also got in the mail from one of my email letters to companies ...Chicken of the Sea coupons for .25 off any product, not great but better than what I had, which was none.

Looking forward to the ads tomorrow, my stockpile is a bit depleted after Thanksgiving! I can't believe I am down to 2 boxes of cereal....good grief! Cereal shortage! I'm gonna be looking for things to to make gift bags with, I have some things, but need some more. Okay, shifting in to high gear for Christmas....I really don't have much shopping left to do, since I buy all year, but I'm missing a few things. I hope you are not stressing out at this time of year. I hopefully will get my tree up this week and the rest of the decorations up.

I'll post after the ads are out tomorrow and I figure out what I'm doing.

Have a great week and God Bless.....Rg

Saturday I hit Walmart and Publix

I did pretty well at Walmart...I did my first ever price match, it went without a hitch. WD had Breathrite Nasal strips advertised for $9.99, they run $11.99 at Walmart, did my price match and I had a $2 off coupon so I paid $7.99 for those, I got a bunch of Campbells Cream of mushroom soups...they were on sale for .60 each, I ended up at .54 each after my coupons. Meow Mix cat food after coupons was $2.98 per 3 # bag. I'm making bananna pudding for church tomorrow, I didn't have coups for any of that, but all in all I did okay there. Now on the to fun at Publix...

The Marie Callenders Pie deal was my most favorite deal...here's how it went: 3 Marie Callender Pies at $7.29 each and 1 Reddi Whip was $2.00, total for the 4 items was $23.87. I had a publix coup if you bought 2, you got 1 pie free...deduct $7.29, I had a Target coup if you bought 2 of the pies and a reddi whip, you got $1.50 off, I had another Publix coupon if you bought 2 of the pies, you got a free Reddiwhip, minus another $2, I had .25 off Reddi whip, I had $1 off each pie...total at the end was $9.83 for 3 pies and 1 reddi-whip....can you believe that? You can't bake a pie for $3! They are nice BIG pies too, with a ton of different kinds. I got Welchs Grape juices for church, they were bogo AND I had $1 off each of them, then a nice couponer lady gave me 3 WD coupons for $1 off 2 of them, they ended up at .49 each! Carnation Evap milk was bogo for $1.45, I had coups for .50 off 2, making those .47 each, Ziploc storage & freezer bags were $2.50 each, I had coups for $1.00 off 2, making those $2 each, Stouffers family size entrees were $3.99, I had mfg coup for $1 off each, making those $2.99...can you make lasagna for $2.99? I don't think so. Cool Whip was bogo, Benefiber was $11.99, I had a mfg coup for $2 off and a Target coup for $2.00 off, making those $7.99. Pam Cooking Spray was $3.29 for 2 they were bogo, I had coups for .35 off each one making those $1.29 each, Wesson Oil was bogo at $4.39, I had coups off each one .30 off 1, making those $1.89 each, Oscar Mayer bacon was $3.50 each, I had a $1 off coupon making those $2.50, I think that was a Target Coupon. Then...the Vanity Fair deal. Nice one. Vanity Fair napkins were bogo, I had a coupon for $1 off 2 of them, making those .64 each for 2 pkgs of 100 each. The plates I had a coupon for $2 off 2 of those, making those .97 each. I had a real big stack of coupons. I bought some other things also, the little girl that was bagging for me at the end whispered to me....How much did you save? I spent $113.56 and SAVED $118.92! I had a blast! This is too much fun to be legal! All I can say is Thanks be to God....He gets the glory for my learning to do this, Vicki for teaching me and to benefit our church food pantry and others as well. Have a great weekend and Thanksgiving. Get some deals for yourself and let the rest of us know what your best deals are. God Bless and I will be out of pocket next week, so unless I have access to a computer, you will be on your own for Black Friday...make the best of it, and don't forget to always be polite, these cashiers will be stressed to the max, you can bet on that. Spread some fun and holiday cheer and smiles. God Bless and be a Savvy Money Saver always! ...Rg

I did not make it shopping today, feeling a little under the weather

But I have not been idle either! On FB, I keep seeing ads from places like Southern Savers and Addicted to Savings and Wildforwags....somehow they have gotten hold of the Black Friday ads for Walgreens and CVS (and other stores as well).....good grief! There is a ton of free stuff...remember in class where we showed you how to buy several items that give you ECB or rewards?? Then you do a 2nd deal using the ECB's or Rewards from the first deal? There is a ton at Walgreens and CVS if you plan on hitting them on Black Friday! Wow! There are other stores as well, I already have my CVS & Walgreens deals all planned out for Black Friday! Let's make hay while the sun shines.

I plan to do Publix and Walmart tomorrow, I hate to shop on Saturdays, but ....anyway, check out the deals that are posted for Black Friday, there are many depending on what you might be looking for.

God Bless.....Rg

Wednesday Winn Dixie run

I did a quick run through at WD. I did pretty well, actually. They had Duncan Hines cake mixes bogo, we have a coupon that if we buy one cake mix and 1 can of comstock pie filling, we will save .55. Well, WD doesn't sell comstock pie filling, so I asked one of the stockers in that aisle if I could substitute the Lucky Leaf pie filling, she said I could. When I checked out, I was watching to see what would happen when they hit my coupon and it went right on through. I got 2 Duncan Hines cake mixes and 2 lucky leaf cherry pie fillings for $5.09 or $1.27 per item...the Pie Filling sold for $3.39, but on sale for $2 and the cake mixes were $2.19 for 2. Not a bad deal at all. I had to have them to make my dump cakes. Ziploc gallon size bags were $2.50 each, had a coup for $1 off 2, Reynolds Turkey bags were $3.82 for 2, with a coupon for .50 off 1, so I paid $1.41 each, Dixie Crystal powdered sugar and brown sugar were on sale for .99 each, I had .50 off each coupons, making those .49, Vanity Fair Dinner Napkins were $2 each, I had coup for $1 off 2, making those $1.50 each, Jimmy Dean Sausage rolls were 4 for $10, I had coups for .75 off each one, making those $7 for 4, or $1.75 each. Argo corn starch was $1.69 with a coup for .30 off 1, or $1.39 each. I bought quite a few of the different size foil pans for carrying food places, they were NOT on sale, but I had to have them. All in all, I spent $53.54 and saved $28.61. Not too bad. They had some other decent deals, but this is all I needed. I am also up to .25 off per gallon on my next fill up, which will help when we return our rental car from our trip to NC, we'll use the .25 off then. Okay, tomorrow I have a funeral, so Friday I will do Publix and maybe Walmart. I am anxious to try my pie deal. he he.

Have a good week, God Bless.....Rg

Working on my shopping lists, how bout you?

Looks like WD has some awfully good buys out there. Check out their ad. Publix too....okay, the Marie Callender pies are $7.29 at Publix. Yellow advantage buy deal is buy 2 get 1 free, we also have a store coupon for free Reddi whip when you buy the 2 pies, we have a coup on the reddi whip, we also have a target coup that says $1.50 off 2 pies and free reddi whip. And we have the MFG coupon for $1 off each pie. Holy cow! What to do, I will let you know on Friday, I'm gonna try to use ALL those coupons and I'll let you know. Well, maybe not all, I think I will have to choose between the target one and the Publix one, or will they give me 2 reddi whips??? I honestly don't know! We'll have to wait and see.

Not to be outdone....you had better check the Walmart Ad too! It looks like they may have some even better prices on some of the things you need for your Thanksgiving Feast!

Keep me posted on what you all find out there to be good deals. I won't be shopping til Friday, only a short WD trip this morning because I have 2 cakes to bake and I need a few things for those. Get out there and get those deals....God bless and Be Savvy.......Rg...and don't forget to be polite!

Monday 11/14

I have my food coupons in my book, but not the non-food coupons. I've looked through some of the ads, but I am not posting until I actually do the deals. If you want to look at what's suggested, go to southernsavers.com, momsbyheart.com does a page by page of the Walgreens flier...maybe CVS too, I'm not sure. Savingthefamilymoney.com is a local girl who does suggestions also.

I do have one thing that intrigues me in the coupons.....Marie Calandar fruit pies......I want to try this one and see if it works, when the price is right on the pies of course...I have 1 publix coup that says if I buy 2 pies, I get a free Reddi Whip, then I have a publix coup that says if I buy 2 pies, I get 1 free, then I have Mfg coups for $1 off each pie and mfg coups for .25 off Reddi Whip. Sounds complicated, but I can't see any reason why it shouldn't work. If you are looking for good pies for Thanksgiving, keep an eye open on this one.

And I saw a coupon in Walgreens for Lindsay Olives for .99, in our family, olives have always been a big part of Thanksgiving and Christmas. Last year, we had a ton of coupons for these, I don't have any this year. Maybe I should look on their website.

Don't forget to try and send email letters to some of your favorite products, sometimes you get coups for cents off the items or free! Addictedtosavings.com has a sample letter and email addresses for some of your favorite products. I think it's under the coupon tag??

Have a great week, and I will keep you posted on what I find this week that actually works!

Blessings.....and be SAVVY! Rg

Friday WD & Target

I didn't do big shopping this week, but here's what I did do today.

WD had those booklets out for Veterans Day with coupons in them...I bought 4 of my Truvia sweetners which were $3.99 each, used a $1 off WD VD coupon and a $1 off mfg coupon making them $1.99 each. Bought a few other things and used my $5 off $30 coupon...spent $23.03 and saved $14.70.

PetSmart let me use 2 of the $2 off Pet Supermarket coupons on my dog food and treats!

Target...went to pick up a new perscription, had a coupon for a $10 gift card for a new perscription. Picked up some buns & cheese and I needed mascara, etc. Loreal Revitalift moisturizer was $12.79 for the small one, I had a $2 off coupon. Loreal mascara was $5.84, had a $1 off coupon and Loreal Eyeliner was $7.49, I had $1 off had a couple of other things in the cart. Used my $10 Target Gift Card and my $10 Visa gift card from Procter & Gamble that I received in the mail the other day and after my coupons, I got $60.03 in products for $23.03. Not too shabby. Oh, and I used my 5% off my total order Redcard also.

All the little things we do can really add up. I also got samples in the mail this week along with more coupons.

Also, I almost forgot, I picked up my organic fruits & veggies Thursday ...again the bag was packed with nutritious non-poisonous goodness. Good week, but I'm a little tired! How bout you, how did you do this week? Love to hear from you all.

God Bless.....Rg

Mailbox Surprises

I've been trying to send 1 or 2 emails per week to companies letting them know how much I like their products...only if I really do of course. Duncan Hines sent me a .75 off coupon on any mix, I sent an email last week to Emerald Nuts and received today $7 in coupons for various products of theirs. I fill out surveys every so often for a company called Shoppers Voice, and today I received $17.55 in various coupons. If you don't work and can, some of these little tricks really pay off in coupons, or play money as I call it. I haven't gotten any FREE ones yet, but I hope to soon. I'll keep ya posted on how I do with this endeavor. There is a list of companies with a sample email to send on addictedtosavings.com. You have to hunt for it, I find it every time accidently, so I can't tell you where to look for it. God Bless....Rg

Wednesday ads for Thursday

I've decided NOT to recommend any shopping scenarios until I have actually DONE them myself. Too many times, the sites recommend deals with coupons that we just don't have for some reason. That being said....I've been looking through the ads this morning, checking southernsavers.com and other sites....I'm not shopping this week! I've been on an every other week plan (because of how my husband's paycheck falls) and it seems to be working out well for me. (Of course, I do have my stockpile in pretty good shape). I did a big shop last week (pay week) did really well, and I don't see anything earth shaking that I need this week! So... if you NEED to shop, check southernsavers.com or savingthefamilymoney.com and check out their recommendations. If you all see and Do a deal where something is FREE or almost FREE, let us know and we will post on the blog. If Vicki or I run into a GREAT deal, and we actually DO the deal and it works, we will let you all know.

I also wanted to mention, some of these sites that you sign up for have deals on toys, clothes, electronics all sorts of things where you can save money on your your Christmas shopping. Let us know if any of you do any of these deals, how you did it and what you saved.

Okay, that's it for me today.....Be Savvy and God Bless....RG

This just in from Vicki out in the field....

The peanut butter at Walgreens and CVS are for a much smaller jar - so Publix will be the best deal. I just bought Peter Pan peanut butter at Publix for $2.99 for 28oz - normally $4.49 - that's like $1.50 off without a coupon. Now we've got the coupon to go with it. I got 6 yesterday without coupons - going to get more before the sale ends Wednesday. The sale at Publix ends on Wednesday, print those coupons and go get some pnut butter while you can afford it. Thanks, Vicki.

Zaycon Foods Ground Beef

I picked up my 40# of ground beef this morning and am in the process of packaging it for the freezer with my food saver. I had to take a little break to cook myself a Cheese burger....with organic lettuce and tomato on it...no bread. Oh my goodness, very tasty meat, not a bunch of grease. I am so pleased, just like I was with the chicken we got last time. I'm a believer and I will keep being a loyal customer as long as they keep bringing us these great deals. BYW my meat was not a full 40 pounds, so Zaycon had already credited my account for $6.35 towards my next order. Great meat AND they are honest....what a great combo in this day and age. They said today that they will be coming back in January with either bacon or chicken. Did you sign up yet to get on their email list? (There is no obligation for signing up, but you'll get the email telling you when and where the next deal will be. And you can check out their website to see what they are all about). If you can't handle 40#, get a couple of friends and introduce them to these great deals, they'll thank you for it, believe me. If you would like to sign up for their email, sign up under me and I will get credit for it. Here's the place: https://www.zayconfoods.com/refer/zf40854

Savvy Money Saver....Rhonda...God Bless.

Vicki found us a pnut butter coupon

Go below to print, I was able to print 2 of them. I think we heard pnut butter is going up 40% or it already has so this could be a good one. I have not seen Peter Pan on sale anywhere yet, we'll check our weekly ads, if I see it I'll let you all know. Just print the coupons and hang onto them for a sale. Jif is on sale at CVS 2 for $5, with $3 extra bucks back and Skippy at Walgreens 2 for $4. Ya might want to grab some even without coupons, it may go much higher and if peanut butter is a staple at your house....like it is at ours, you don't want to run out and have to buy it at an inflated price. Okay, that's it for now. I am picking up my Zaycon Lean ground beef today...40 pounds of it so you know what I'll be doing this afternoon....packaging and freezing.

My 2nd trip to Publix

This might seem excessive to some of you, but I use Swanson broths for everything. I now have 28 cartons, we got new coupons this weekend, enough for 12 more, so I went and bought them while the bogo sale was still on. Also, the bogo 8'oclock coffee was still on and Opal brought me 2 more coupons, so I HAD to get those. I only have 10 of those in the freezer right now. I did the Halls cough drop deal.....They were a little more than I thought, but using the Publix coupon and the MFG coupon, they were .69 each instead of $1.69 each. And Karen, from Savingthefamilymoney.com gave us Dole coupons that gave us free cans of Dole Fruits! Whoo hoo! Once again, I saved more than I spent! I spent $36.30 for 81.00 in goods...saving $44.70! Whoo hoo! Another good day of being a Savvy Money Saver.....God Bless.....RG

Friday Publix & WD Shop

My apologies for the things I posted that required the Conagra/Publix coupon for $3 off 2 various items. I can't find the darn thing either. If any of you find it, holler.

Publix-Got the TGI Fridays single serve frozen entrees...FREE they were bogo and using the Publix coup for $1 off and the MFG coup for $1 off I actually made .6 each on those. Bought 6 of the 8'oclock
coffees were bogo, I had $1 off each one, making them $2.49 each. I bought 16 of the Swanson Broths that were bogo, with a coup for $1 off 2 and $1 off 3, I ended up at about .92 each. Zatarans frozen entrees were bogo, I had $1 off 2, they ended up at .99 each. Now, where can you eat lunch for .99??? Meow Mix was bogo, I had $1 off each one, those ended up at $1.49 each for the 3 pound whatever bag. Naval oranges were .62 per pound. Gillette Fusion Shave Gel was $2.99 each, I had coups for $2 off 1, making them .99. 3M Scotch Packing tape was bogo, ended up at $1.34 each. I even bought Billy a Lemon Meringue Pie and lunch meat & deli cheese. This almost never happens to me, but I saved more than I spent! whoo hoo! I spent $64.48 for $160.27 in groceries! Saved $95.79 all told. I'm a happy camper. That's a 67% savings, right? Wow.

WD-I bought one of the Grade A turkeys for .79 per pound, just to have on hand. I burned off a bunch of Pringles coups, they were less than $1 each, I did 2 of the State Fair Corndog/Country crock mac & cheese deals (those mac & cheese freeze just fine btw), I had .55 off the corndogs and $1 off the mac & cheese. Not the best deal ever, but I thought it would be good to have over the holidays for kids etc. I had to buy stuff for my church cheese ball and crackers, which I did not have coups for and several other things I didn't have coups for. ended up at $111.47 and $58.91 in savings. Not too awful bad, but nothing to really brag about. Still 53% though, I think. I'm no math whiz for sure.

Did not get to Walmart this week, probably won't before the new ad comes out on Sunday. No big loss, I'm sure.

Okay, have fun being savvy....God Bless....RG

Tuesday 11/1/11

Hi all, I've been looking over the ads and what's coming up at the different stores, I'll give you all my top picks this evening. However, there is a $3off fresh or frozen Butterball Turkey (I doubt it will last long so I didn't want you to miss it) when you buy 4 other products ie. Stove Top Stuffing (I think we have coups for those), Heinz gravy, Pillsbury Crescent Rolls (I know we have a ton of those coupons). There were many other good coupons you need to print that will come in handy for your holiday shopping. I found the Butterball one on coupons.com. Did you know (I can't remember who told me this) that you can buy turkeys while they are cheaper, have the store cut them in half, wrap well and put in the freezer to cook at a later date. I never thought about having them cut in 1/2 so you don't have to cook a huge one. Good idea, huh?

Also, go to www.stockingspree.com and sign up for the coupon booklet that will be out 12/3-10...this is a sign up only deal (it says) netting us $64 in coupons coming by mail.

Publix has 8'oclock coffee bogo this week, I don't have nearly enough coupons, I've been printing all I can find. I went on bricks.com and they have some under their campbells coupons, which are also nice coups. If anyone hates 8'oclock coffee and has extra coups, I'll be happy to take them off your hands.

Okay, that's it for now. Be savvy and God Bless....RG
